i see violence or aggression as a weakness, protection for ones own life or family is a different matter however, defending yourself and others without weapons and never retaliating, is a strength.
i suppose some people can't control themselves
and maybe don't understand simple things so become destructive. If you believe that tv or books or films or whatever has no influence then that suggests that environment does not play full part, maybe meaning that your kama or chemistry may be a place to put the blame!

environment does play a part, but there are many factors to one's "environment" each simultaneously separate and intertwined...and if you think that instinct and other facets of biology play no part in the shape of who and what we are as individuals and as a whole species than your saffron robe may be wrapped a little too tightly and the lofty peak from whence you dispense your wisdom may be too high for you to be getting the oxygen you need so do not preach to me of karma or chemistry.

thanks for your complex and concise answer, i've pulled the bullet out and I'm still alive you will be disappointed to know.
I don't mind a discussion or an argument for that matter but be very careful when it comes to criticizing others, it is one thing having an opinion but another summing someone up in the way that you have.
Maybe i don't exactly understand you because your complex mind does not come to simple answers. As you said, a person can take things how they want to and that is exactly what you have done.
My point about Karma and chemistry/genetics was more angled to the point that possibly they are not changeable especially if you have a closed mind.
Lets not waist time with "i was born with it", its a lame excuse.
