Would Jesus be against materialism or (with a significant amount of straw grasping) would he have been for it? That's the way we frame the message, and it's pretty typical binary B.S. A shallow observation of the point, brought about by our tendency to prefer speculation and bickering over effort and practice. With practice, we find that giving up our possessions and attachments has little to do with a petty materialism vs. spiritualism, and everything to do with fucking around and finding out that we've wasted a lot of time fucking around.
