No. Fuck man taking over the evolutionary process. Not interested. I already have a mandate handed to me by a litany of creatures who died before I ever came on the scene. Man rose from struggle and should face it as it's dished out. Cowardice disguised as concern is of no use to that process. Those who feel the need to run or hide should run and hide. Fight or flight in the face of a threat is a real thing. Nothing wrong with that. But likewise, those who feel the need to fight, must fight. They will fight. Nothing wrong with that either. However, if it doesn't give you pause to run into the arms of those who have destroyed the planet..the man with the money, then you must live with your OWN choice, and stop trying to make that choice for others. A virus is a lottery. Deal with it like we always have. (Instead of DETERMINING our fate and forcing it with law and the subsequent police batons, intrusion and "justified" deaths that come with law..simply because you were told that it was the "compassionate" thing to do.) Want to be compassionate? Tend to those who get sick, and warn the rest so they can decide how to proceed. That's it. Period. The end of society's rope. To intrude any further, just to support the media-spewed propaganda of this mound of money that has: polluted the planet, poisoned its own people with as many chemicals as you can think of, maintained a federal minimum wage FAR below the poverty level for over 14 years, taken over the government, media, academia and industry, given its biggest criminals a pass (take Dan Bilzerian, who lives off of the hundreds of millions his dad stole from investors back in the 80s), stolen land, sent their own species off to die in foreign lands, just to stir up more division among the plebs and profit from it..for more money to buy more land..etc...etc...etc. Don't intrude any further, please fellow plebs. It won't be pretty. Societal niceties and personal space are a velvet rope with a throat punch waiting on the other side. That's what revolution is.

“tend to those who get sick” except this link, and basically the world right now, literally illustrates that critically ill people CAN’T be tended to because there are too many unvaccinated people crowding the ICUs.

You...go tend to them. Stop harassing people. You care? Go prove it. I've already nursed or comforted three people and a few customers through it. I have several friends who are vaccinated. One has a son with MS who is now experiencing SEVERE side effects. A virus is a virus. There is no daddy or mommy to save you except your own personal preparation. Did you go get dirty as a kid? Awesome! Good for you, or your parents for having your back. Did you spend a lot of time indoors, isolated from viral and bacterial contact with the rest of humanity. Ohhhhh...bummer slim. This might be a crap shoot for you. That's a legitimate reason to be frightened. Feel for you. Go get your vaccines and see if they help. I'm 100% behind your decision to be protected by the rich and their choice to invest in those who come out of college. Good luck to you. Don't come looking for a punch in the face, by forcing your choice on others. We've been punching people who try to stab us against our will, for a long time around here. It just seems like the sensible thing to do.

"I have several friends who are vaccinated. One has a son with MS who is now experiencing SEVERE side effects." Question: do you know which vaccine? My boyfriend has the same condition and avoided the Astra-Zeneca version because the live virus is contained made it more likely to trigger an immune reaction. But that meant that the newer technology was actually safer for him. Pfizer, same as I got. I hardly had any reaction either time. Sore arm, that's about it. And the Canadian health site warned of possible flu symptoms. Some people I know had aches and tiredness. Me? Nope, and I'm a terrible hypochondriac sometimes. That's just anecdotal too, of course, and I don't want to minimize people's pain by saying there's no possible ill effects. Everything carries some risk. But I think it's more helpful to speak in specifics than to make broad sweeps like "vaccines are bad because they're not natural" (what IS natural? Typing on a computer?) or, on the other side, "antivaxxers are killing everybody." Vaccines haven't killed me yet. Neither have antivaxxers; they're more a danger to themselves than people who've had the vaccines already. (Most likely I'll die of cancer. Runs in the family. But now I need to go to sleep and not invite Alzheimer's.)

e_o_i: re anti-vaxxers being more of a danger to themselves, it's true but there's still risks of vaxxed people getting covid with minor (or no) symptoms and passing it unknowingly to others, including unvaxxed people, which crowds the ICUs, such as is mentioned in the beginning of this post, and severely slows down herd immunity. and agreed re the story about the person with MS being anecdotal. it sucks for that person, but it in no way = "vaccines are bad for everyone." you could argue not to take ANY meds for that reason — everyone reacts to them differently. but there are also stories of immune compromised people who got covid pre-vax availability and have long-haul symptoms, or worse, didn't survive it. as more anecdotal evidence, just for "fun": my mom had ALS and my sister has Crohn's, and both of them got the vaccine with no issue.

I mean, my info is anecdotal too - just stories of individuals. But my idea, anyway, was that finding the facts of specific situations makes it harder to make blanket statements like "vaccines bad." And also to empathize, even if I come across as sarcastic sometimes. It's a tough time for most people. Oh, I know, you (other you) could refuse to budge from a philosophical position that vaccines are bad in general. But not everyone will be satisfied by that or think it's reasonable. That doesn't mean we hate you or think all your ideas are bad.

Pah, sorry, I don't know why that posted twice. There's another practical point to consider, re nr's statement: a bunch of people hospitalized, esp. for a contagious disease, means less hospital space for people with other illnesses.

You pretty much lost me when you started batting, "these people who think vaccines are bad" around. WTF are you talking about? That has nothing to do with this. Sure, I think these rushed products are probably crap, and I have plenty of experience with which to make that assessment. But I've never said ACTUAL vaccine technology sucks. I just said it shouldn't be forced on ANYONE by ANYONE..unless we're deciding who the farmers are and who are their livestock to be led. I'm also HORRIBLY suspicious of an elite who, (I can't believe that I'm repeating this OBVIOUS shit to such intelligent people) I spoke against at Occupy 9 years ago. Why? Because they wouldn't raise the minimum wage to a living wage. Remember that shit? It's been almost a decade since populist IRE rose up for just cause. They still haven't raised the minimum wage. Proving that the working class chooses slavery and obedience over their own well being. Here's a dumbass, futile me, trying to suggest that we might unite the working class of all political persuasions rather than divide to help the wealthy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=peWpnYCXT7M But of course, academia has endowments and foundations that flatter the rich to fund it, so OF COURSE it's not bought out. Ask Noam Chomsky. Universities and their staff can be trusted to be unbiased. And ALL media is owned by 6 holding companies. So of course, when they say this is about people not trusting vaccines..it's to avoid the notion that we've stopped trusting the wealthy, who have steadily raped our society to the point that we want to live in anyone's backyard in a tiny home, just to get out from under our landlords..and this? Because the investment house class (ie. rental plantation owners)have made land ownership nearly impossible by driving the prices up in order to increase their plantation size. Let's see, cancer denial for 50 years plus. They still won't stop polluting the planet and blaming it on us for not recycling ...even though new plastic is more desirable and they know it. They plan on tripling production through 2030. What's killing the planet again? Who doesn't seem to give a shit again? Hey, look kids coming out of school scarred for life, worried about taking risks. (They teach the opposite in private schools.) That's a richie plus. Timid peasants with less aspirations than complexes. Let's pump that up through mass media. But fuck it. You're right. It's because..the guy who vaccinated his children and took my vaccines in the military..doesn't trust vaccines. Have you seen what they've done to humanity in the name of greed? Again..WTF are y'all talking about? Isn't the same thing most of us are. When wealth inequity is high, populist anger is too. When it gets too high, revolution is imminent. Unless..the wealthy can control the peasants completely. Then revolution could be averted. Divide them first..to weaken them. Meanwhile, back in the dumb ass cattle pen: "Let's give them the authority to own our veins too." "Good call."

Okay, but I asked about the actual vaccine that the person with MS took that caused a bad reaction. You might not know, which is fine. Or you might know and don't want to answer. Again, fine. You don't have to do what I want. I'm not a rich person trying to control you. In fact, I'm have a fairly low amount of self-control, which is probably why I'm replying :) You asked, I answer: flip the script for a moment. Suppose the focus on vaccines, including from the dissenters, is a distraction from more important issues? Which just might be what some of these billionaires want! You could ask: why DON'T social media companies put a tighter leash on anti-vax rhetoric? Just a Twitter keyword search reveals a whole lot of it. If the rich elite (pretending they're a monolith for a moment) were all about making people think the same about these vaccines, why don't they ban such content outright? My first guess: they don't care. They want views. Clicks. $$$. BUT if you want to think conspiracies, consider: If Twitter, Facebook, etc. can get us obsessing about something as irrelevant as a vaccine, then we won't be pushing for any of the social change you described. Thoughts?

Y'all should know better. What's going on has nothing to do with viruses or aliens or any of that shit. Our purpose here is to directly witness the universe which created our species and all of its accomplishments along the way. How well are we doing? Are you sure that YOU know what's really going on? Are you sure that YOU aren't being distracted from the important issues? Just something to chew on. I don't know a fucking thing myself. It's simply not possible. Oh..and he got the Moderna jab. Okay, thanks. I was just curious, because of what I said before. But I didn't mean to be patronizing. Here's my attempt at patronizing: *Puts on monocle, clears throat*: We might best define the tone of the person who started this blathe as "combative" while the tone of the entity known as e_o_i appears to alternate between sincere and sarcastic, according to that creature's unaccountable whims. Phew, that's exhausting. I'm not used to the monocle :) Anyway, I'm sure I'm distracted way too often! By arguing here, for one. So I won't do that in this thread anymore, since neither of us started it. I don't mind debating, as it helps me clarify and modify my own ideas, but I don't want to be unfair or hostile.

healthcare workers are quitting. "COVID patients are also becoming harder to deal with. Most now are unvaccinated, and while some didn’t have a choice in the matter, those who did are often belligerent and vocal. Even after they’re hospitalized, some resist basic medical procedures like proning or oxygenation, thinking themselves to be fighters, only to become delirious, anxious, and impulsive when their lungs struggle for oxygen. Others have assaulted nurses, thrown trash around their rooms, and yelled for hydroxychloroquine or ivermectin, neither of which has any proven benefit for COVID-19." https://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2021/11/the-mass-exodus-of-americas-health-care-workers/620713/?utm_campaign=the-atlantic&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook&fbclid=IwAR3UgRE5sF5NiXt390aLjAKjwhAhxLG5Er1h5YVGAJ62mUlArNfRC6S9tmg

The Atlantic has been a non-stop elitist rag forever. I can't IMAGE why they would stroke the egos of everyone who did what they were told, and bash on those who didn't. "Look at the stupid idiots, fighting until they kill themselves." How fucking smug is THAT? And of course, everyone who did as they were told and got their shots..well they feel smart as fuck when they read some emotionally charged bullshit like that, don't they? Elitists NEVER make cooperative peasants feel superior to the uncooperative ones. It's NEVER happened in the history of elitism. Ask the house slaves. They'll tell you. It just doesn't happen.
