Try to remove the cuff though and the barbs dig in
Twist and slide to ease the tension but you see it's down to two choices
Hack off your limb or slowly tear bracelet through your flesh
It's so lovely when it's not hurting, you often think to leave it

we did it. we did so very well, you and i. we passed through trials and tribulations and surrounded ourselves with communication and listening and love. our last night together was so beautiful, so real and pure and full of love. from that we part, and go our own ways, bringing the lessons learned and the ever more clear knowledge of what we want to create for ourselves in this lifetime. i am indebted to you for the love we shared- for your open heart, for holding me, for being my best friend and strongest supporter. i will never, ever, stop loving you.

Today I've decided to look at the world differently once again. The negativity that I've expressed of late has become tiresome and so I've taken a step back from it. In my heart there is both concern and hope, but I've spent the majority of my moments these days focusing on my concerns for the future instead of expressing my hope for that same future.
I truly believe that everything is moving along as it should, and that better days lie ahead, though it be far ahead. The trick has been and will continue to be, to act upon that belief; to cherish these moments for what they are: the necessary steps that will lead us all to a brighter tomorrow.
