I agree with them that we live lives of illusion. These egos which we call me are constructs created to convienently organize the cognitive aspects of keeping an individual alive. In other words, you don't really exist, I don't either. The illusion of an individual self makes the organism more attached to life, and motivated to preserve itself. This is good for the preservation of the gene pool and the species. We are useful constructs, and that is all. The Buddhists try to free themselves from what they see as our slavery to ego. There isn't anybody to free. |

As an individual we are also selfish. Never seeing anything as a whole. Swallowing never chewing. Taking never giving... Looking for something that is unattainable while living in that fashion. Happiness peace |
