*why not?* no_go_zones News Story- The Peggy Adams Rescue League/Palm Beach County Humane Society, 3200 N. Military Trail, West Palm Beach, will accept for temporary shelter domestic pets of residents who are in mandatory evacuation zones during a hurricane. The pets will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Dogs must be on leashes and cats in carriers. The two geodesic domes of the shelter were constructed to protect occupants from winds exceeding 300 mph. Though the kennels already are full of sheltered animals, there is additional capacity to house cats and dogs in lobbies, hallways and offices when evacuated families cannot take their animals with them. Animals dropped off for temporary shelter will not be considered to have been surrender permanently and will be returned at the owners' request. Owners should provide food, water, toys, bedding, medications and a crate or carrier. (Thursday, September 02, 2004) 040902 give a pet a home... And_I_will_tell_you_how_wonder_you_are...
