a.) what all restaurants should have. b.) today, i went into one of my school's study lounges...with the nice cushiony couches. and i noticed some people in various states of study and other forms of sleep. i laid down. and after making sure i was connected somehow to my backpack, i took a deep breath, and exhaled my head slowly down, like i was shimmying down a rope ladder of air, pulling it past me, getting enough leverage to rest. curled up in the fetal position on the couch i felt strange. how long had those others been here before me? perhaps they were ancient. i drowsed away. i awoke, and one was gone. a new person made a noise moving a table that was near my head and apologized. suddenly i felt more comfortable. as more of the ancients left and the new ones came, now i was the one that belonged, now i was the one holding all the explanations. i was the one they paid silent homage to. worshipped by sleeping in the shadows of my dreams. |
