lurvy looking inward
If I need X to be happy, I must need it from an outward source, right? Cause if I had it inside, it'd be working to make me happy already.
No. There's a false assumption there. My insides are not a pantry. I'm not full of concrete objects that are removed and inserted (ahem...).
Inside there's a flow of energy/matter/thought/spirit... whatever you're into, really. Point is, it's fluid and mutable.
First choice: Expect someone/something else to make you happy, or choose to make yourself happy. The former is a dead end, the latter leads to your next choice.

REAListic optimIST It's as if you had a holy cup
that you are looking to fill
in order to remove a feeling of lack
that exists somewhere deep inside.

But when your holey cup is filled
from a source outside yourself,
it all leaks out before you can
bring it back into your inner void.

But inside of you is a fountain
that flows with the essence of life
And it is blocked by something you
hold onto that no longer serves you.

If you can release that block,
your fountain will flow again
Then you can submerge your holy cup
and it will never be empty again.
