That wishes come true...
I was overstressed about doing a great costume and wished I didn't have to worry about it...
Reality was, I just wore my work clothes(nice pinstripe suit) and went as a mbster(and yes, I'm italian) and that was the week before. For actual halloween? I gave up the holiday to take a friend to see another freind of 20 years who was dying of some horrible thing in her brain. It was a nice trip.

as for me, a little scar-wax, spirit gum adhesive and green hair spray and some basic clown make-up allowed me to pull off a fairly competent rendition of the Heath Ledger version of The Joker.
friend who owed me some money and a favor got me into a nice big, debauched Halloween party event that one of the arts organizations in town sponsors every year.
too_much_vodka (among other drinks and whatnot) was had by many, me among them
i'm surprised i did not wind up tattooed just to complete the cliche'

I'm pretty lucky in that my hangovers, in spite of my horrendous capacity for drink, are generally either negligent or non-existent. usually they only happen when wine was involved in one capacity or other.
as for being tattooed, with the help of a couple of well-angled mirrors, i checked in places i did not even think i had to make sure.
