I told Lia the other day, that if I were to describe my stubbornness in the pursuit of what I feel is right, as a metaphor, it would be the story of a man who wants to sail his ship around the world, but decides to circumnavigate it North to South, not East to West or vise versa.
As he approaches the Arctic Circle and his ship slows, then ultimately GRINDS to a stop (locked in ice), he goes to his tool storage, pulls out a pickaxe, and begins hacking away at the 6 foot thick ice at the bow of the ship. Even if it's only an inch a day for 20 years..goal oriented is an understatement.
Ridiculous is probably a better term.
