true enough. as long as the whole hippy_codependence_scenario works for you, you can survive. i admire those who are fully equals working toward common goals. seems it needs to be in the counterculture. which can get both regressive and ungrounded. there are a lot of hippy_alcoholics, too. i suppose the spirituality saves the others, but they really did have to find free teachings somewhere, at some point (well, maybe in a previous Earth existence), and that's not always available. in fact, they had to steer clear of false_teachings, somehow. it seems to me that, right now, spiritual teachers cost money. and if you do seek one, you will be gambling that that person is what your soul and/or spirit really is seeking. good news is that it's aeons better than playing the lottery. i'm assuming that you can't *really* find it in used_books or the_internet. but, whatever. the greater culture isn't exactly golden these days, either.

There's a book ascended_masters that's solid. He mentioned how authentic instructors rarely ask for money. Payment is usually in the form of your own personal progress.

in my experience you can get Ascended Masters to start teaching you things, and of course it's impossible to pay them. then you start feeling crazy, and you don't have a physical structure to socially integrate the teachings with... and these teachers will need to be teaching you things that are always in line with their energy. if it's not appropriate for *you* they just back off. they've got plenty of people to attend to, and progress can be made in so many ways.
as for authentic teachers in the physical plane who don't accept payment, well, they must be funded in other ways... could be good. could set up something bad, though, when that funding runs out... which it will, unless they become some sort of Ascended Teacher and then it will all be about who's aligned with the teachings and who isn't. and hey, if these teachings are pure, then why shouldn't it be? as a student, you have to know whether you can go in certain directions or not, you can't just ask for a teaching and get it. they come to you, because you fit them.
