"Didn't it ever strike you as bizarre that our lives should be so tough when we're all so brilliant? Here we are, this hugely intelligent species that can split atoms, fly to the moon and create the Flintstones, yet we're all running around blowing each other up, having heart attacks or starving to death. It makes no sense. How did we get into this mess? Or is it just the so-called human condition? It all began uncountable eons ago with the first untrue declarations from those who desired power which proclaimed that our lives revolved around, and were the result of, circumstances over which we had no control, including being dominated by others. Since that's what everybody has believed for untold eons, that's what we still believe today. And so, like our parents before us and theirs before them, all the way back to God knows how many thousands of years, we have struggled, whacked, strained, worried and died long before our time from the all too unnecessary demands of living. We believed it to be the human condition, part of the unfortunate affliction we have come to call reality. But the human condition is a myth. And so, for that matter, is what we call reality. The truth is, in our everyday natural state, we have the sacred ability to maneuver this thing called "our life" to be any way we want it to be. Any way! Bar nothing!" - Lynn Grabhorn from "excuse me, your LIFE is waiting"

We do control our fate/destiny/future to a certain extent... But there ARE things we have no control over... to deny that is to exercise foolery. We do posess great power, however we lack the discipline necessary to wield it. We are as five_year_olds with power_tools ... We can only carve our natural surroundings into what our imaginations desire with Adult SuperVision. Otherwise, we're just frollicking around cutting our various appendages off. If we could unite... to grow as a species, it would be possible to have total control over life, the universe, or God knows what else! But who will put down their pocketbooks_and_funnypages long enough to see that? No... we are still too young. Underdeveloped. societal_peuberty And... "bar nothing"? If I desired to marry a girl named finky-rinky-dinky from Paris... I could not "control circumstances" to make that girl exist in Paris, that would be up to circumstances beyond my control if that desire were to become a reality.

Has it ever occurred to you to stop thinking that it isn't possible? You are in absolutely NO position to say what is or is not possible as far as human achievement goes. Neither am I for that matter, but I know that MY dreams are coming true. All of them. I also know that a woman who has been Ms. Doom-and-Gloom for the 13 years that I have known her looks 10 years younger today, and her co-workers tell her so. She walks with a spring in her step that I thought only I was capable of. She is more motivated than ever and her relationship with her boss has done a complete 180 degree turnaround. Anything we dream of is possible, and cynical games of "yea well make this happen Mr. Smartypants" will not change that. They will only leave you stuck, trapped behind a barrier that you have erected in your mind. Everything you want is out there waiting for you, for me too, for all of us. I am in the process of demonstrating that right now. Anyhow, this book is amazing. I'm not sure how much of this lady's pseudoscientific crap about "vibrations" is true, but anyone that espouses believing that anything is possible as a way of enabling ourselves has my heartfelt support. You should probably pick it up...say, instead of watching the evening news. THE_EXPERIMENT_IS_OVER YOUR life is waiting.

First of all, discard your defensive postition and discuss, not argue, this topic with me as far as we are allowed to take it. If you are able, and I believe you are...anything's possible, right?. [I wasn't playing the cynical game you percieved.] Which brings me to Second of all: I whole-heartedly believe that anything's possible. Everything that the human mind can concieve is possible, and thus attainable. [Although we do have a limited amount of "stuff" to concieve...] So we are in total harmonious agreement there, pally. Thirdly, I don't think anything about vibrations should be called crappy... vibrations are the singulary most relevant topic when dealing with energy. After all, Matter is simply vibrating chunks of energy. You , me, the rock, the droid, all of us can be seen as a mass of energy vibrating at different frequencies. Circling and cycling around the cosmos we vibrate in an unheard symphony of color and waves. ahem... anyways. And... Ms' doom 'n gloom can achieve those EXACT same results by simply getting plenty of exercise, and changing her attitude. [I say this solely for the sake of argument. :) ] So you see... I wasn't saying anything was impossible... I was only saying that there ARE things that are out of our control... no matter what we do, or what we believe... Because it may be possible for us to __will__ something to happen, but it won't necessarily be __allowed__ to transpire.

Everything is not possible. Or, I guess everything is possible, technically, since something that has a hundred billionth of a chance of occurring is still possible... technically. I guess a chance in hell is still a chance. Sort of.

Well since we're both in perfect agreement, I guess all that I can do is bump this back up to the top and let it work its magic...huh? (P.S. I agree with you about the vibrations thing, but as you are ALSO probably well aware, packaging is everything and the hardest to convince of the power of positive being are those that would find vibrations a bit too hippy-trippy for their tastes.) Oh and I think your example overlooks the point entirely. Having found a girl either WITH that name, or who was willing to change that name, the end happiness of being WITH a dancing girl from France named floopy-toopy whatever her name was, (too lazy to scroll up this morning, sorry) would have been achieved. The dream would have been made reality and using semantics as an exercise in logic would do little to diminish their happiness together. In fact, I'll be damned if froppy toopy isn't out there waiting for her Prince charming right now, fully prepared to change her name or go back in a time machine to be with this wonder guy who is willing to make dreams come true!

Well, gee... Is that it? now what? I guess you should have been more argumentative. What else does this book have to say?
