i live in what is now the drunkest city in america, so anything involving alcohol is obviously not done in moderation (the level of acceptable public drunkenness shocked the shit out of me when i first moved here). there is some wisdom to the drink out a cold theory but an entire bottle of whiskey or wine isn't making the cold go away; it's making it worse. cold delixir tea: two inch piece of ginger, peeled and sliced thin one clove of garlic, peeled one dash of cayenne one lemon, juiced honey to taste put ginger and garlic in one cup of water in a saucepan. bring water to boil, then simmer for 20 mins. strain ginger/garlic liquid into a cup, juice one entire lemon into cup, add cayenne and honey. repeat two to three times daily. best when used with a neti pot and 2000 i.u. of vitamin d. or better yet, just use the vitamin d. i haven't had any need for the cold delixir this winter cause i've been diligent with the d. teaches germ factories that sneeze on her regularly
