Obviously, Doctor, you have never been a thirteen year old girl. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The trees, like lungs, filling with air. My sister -- the mean one -- pulling my hair. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Look, she's laughing, he made her laugh. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Have we photosynthesized our breakfast today? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I baked a pie full of rat poision. I though I could eat it, you know, without being suspicious. My nana, who is 86... [starts to break down] she really likes sweets. She had three pieces. You're a stone fox. We knew the girls were really women in disguise, that they understood love, and even death, and that our job was merely to create the noise that seemed to fascinate them.

I'd like to read the book. the movie sucked, in my opinion...but it had an air about it that seemed to me would peice together a nice book.

one of my favorites before josh hartnett sold out the book was incredible but i feel the movie did it justice with it's cinematography

requiem for a dream seemed much more.... uh. i don't know. not to put it down, but they are too different in my opinion. like they are both heavy, but requiem for a dream is heavier for like easier reasons, such as guns, and drugs, and screaming. whereas virgin suicides is heavy for reasons that the viewer like...takes in and makes personal. much more somber. well...that's how it was for me anyway.

that's funny... I felt just the opposite. requiem for a dream felt more personal and virgin suicides more distant...

I'll have to agree with Bob, Virgin Suicides made my stomach shrink, made me want to open my eyes... Requiem made me wanna scream and sleep because of fear, I prefer the silent feeling of Virgin Suicides

I think the_virgin_suicides was easier to relate to in away that it was about normal lives... but I felt it had a bit more distance from the viewer. It was the personal level that did it. With requiem_for_a_dream though; it was more the ending that did it. And that was the personal part. sure, the build_up was different, but in the end i think it's more about the feeling of a movie than the actual movie itself.

I could, for sure, get this on a personal level-no problem. It's soooo close to me in that way, but like daxle said, it seems distant. I think I like that part about it though. It feels very dream like, but it seems it could be one of MY dreams... Am I making sense?
