fetal sleepers = tend to be shy and sensitive flat on back with arms at their sides = are quiet and reserved. one's side with legs outstretched and arms down = indicates a social, easy-going personality. But if the arms are outstretched in the yearner position, the person tends to be more suspicious. flat on the tummy with the hands at the sides of the head = usually brash and gregarious. starfish position on the back with outstretched arms and legs = Unassuming, good listeners [once a sleeping style is adopted it is rarely changed] http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/nm/20030916/sc_nm/science_sleep_dc_2 [im a fetal sleeper heavily favoring my right side]

i sleep on my stomach with one leg straight out and one leg pulled up (if i'm facing left, left leg is pulled up, visa versa). also i sleep on my opposite arm (opposite from my leg) with my other arm either on the pillow next to me or at my side. sometimes it finds its way underneath my pillow with the other arm.... hmmmm... didn't realize i knew EXACTLY how i typically sleep.

fetal, slightly, I almost always have one hand/arm under the pillow, with my head directly above, usually facing away from linds (she's always in bed before me (could blather have something to do with that? ah, I think so.), though it's nice to cuddle, I usually cuddle for a while, then when I want to sleep, I'll turn over, head on pillow on hand, and then, possibly after some brief changes of position, I'll sleep and not move from that position, I'm an incredibly light sleeper.

anything between flat on my tummy (but with my head turned to the side) and foetal... it depends on my mood

every several months i cycle through various sleeping positions, and have never noticed corollary change in my personality... and my feline cohabitants can be seen sleeping in different positions every day, yet each has a unique and consistent personality. so much for overly simplistic reductions about human nature. jumping_gemstones!

when it's cold i sleep in the fetal_position. when it's hot i sleep on my back with my arms stretched, my hands above my head on the pillow-- my friend darin said that this means i am surrendering to sleep, as it resembles the criminal "hands up" position...
