~Add to this story if you feel so inclined~ Two years ago, he came to see me. His name was Zachery. I'd never seen a man with such eyes. The first time he sat across from me, I found myself mesmerized by their glow. Pale, amber eyes. He proceeded to tell me how a voice in his head had sent him to me, but more importantly how I, Dr. Patricia Meade, was to be his savior. This was a new twist. I'd heard plenty of unusual things from a patient, but nothing quite like this. I asked him if he knew whose voice had been telling him this. He told me he hadn't known until he'd heard me speak for the first time a moment ago. Now he was sure of it. It had been my voice. That was the first of many appointments I'd have with Zachery. It was also the beginning of a journey that would turn my world upside down.

Then, three weeks later, I was hauled in before the ethics board and my good name was besmirched in the local press. "Aw crap," I thought.

Reading the letter I'd just opened from Zachery, I learned of his next move. He would be "contacting" Jennifer Howard, who happened to be sitting on the ethics board during my hearing. This letter had to have been mailed a day or two earlier. How had he known she would be on the board? Jenny had been asked to fill in at the last minute. I already knew the answer, although I still had trouble accepting it. The voice. The voice had told him. My voice. I found myself burning the letter in the kitchen sink. I could feel the ropes of paranoia tightening around me. What would Zack do with Jenny? Did he know we were old friends? Should I call her? I decided it best to try to find Zachery. Quickly.

Then the phone rang. It was Jennifer Howard. "Are you busy; I need to talk to you right away." said Jennifer in a most distressed tone. "What is it?" I said.

I felt my throat constricting. Jenny hadn't called me for some time. I prepared myself for whatever I was about to hear, by sitting down.

The paper burned, as it turns irriversibly black I wash it away. Dragging water ran down the white basin and gagged the drain, it's burning mist swelling my eyes. I was in another world slowly watching it burn, inches from the falling water. I hear the phone in my ear humming. I heard the phone fuzz alone, the voice coming from the other end was completely invisible to me. Slowly I came back. I could hear her panting, as though her body was soaking and she couldn't breathe through the tightening chill. I hang up the phone, it rang again, I lifted it. Leaning over to perch I close my burning eyes and focus on the silence coming forth. "Zachery?" I say
