why shouldnt i work for the nsa? thats a tough one, but ill take a shot. say im workin at the nsa and somebody puts a code on my desk, somethin noone else can break. maybe i take a shot at it, maybe i break it, and im real happy with myself cuz i did my job well, but maybe that code was the location of some rebel army in the north africa or the middle east, and once they have that location, they bomb the village where the rebels are hidin, 1500 people that i never met, never had no problem with get killed. now the politicians are sayin, oh send in the marines to secure the area cuz they dont give a shit. it wont be their kid over there gettin shot just like it wasnt them when their number got called cuz they were all pullin a tour in the national guard. itll be some kid from southy over there takin shrapnel in the ass. he comes back to find that the plant he used to work at got exploited to the country that he just got back from, and the guy who put the shrapnel in his ass got his old job cuz he’ll work for fifteen cents a day and no bathroom breaks. meanwhile he realizes the only reason he was over there in the first place was that so we could install a government that would sell us oil at a good price, and of course the oil companies use a little scrumish over there to scare up domestic oil prices, a cute little antelary benefit for them, but it aint helpin my buddy at 2.50 a gallon. theyre takin their sweet time bringin the oil back of course, maybe they even took the liberty of hiring an alcoholic skipper who likes to drink martinis and fuckin play slalom with the icebergs. it aint too long till he hits one, spills the oil, and kills all the sealife in the north atlantic. so now my buddys outta work, he cant afford to drive, so hes walkin to the fuckin job interviews which sucks because the shrapnel in his ass is givin him chronic hemroids. and meanwhile hes starving cuz everytime he tries to get a bite to eat, the only blue plate special theyre servin is north atlantic scroud with quaker state. so whatd i think? i’m holdin out for somethin better… i figure fuck it, while im at it why not just shoot my buddy, take his job, give it to his sworn enemy, hike up gas prices, bomb a village, club a baby seal, hit the hash pipe, and join the national guard? i could be elected president.

sorry, fella, i was being a bit of an ass, but so many people here just write shit that ain't theirs and don't reference it or slap quotes on it. it's clearly not that big of a deal. i reckon you weren't trying to pretend to have created that on your own, and i certainly don't expect people to follow any particular grammar and punctuation rules. i just get a bit tired of it. sorry.

one final thought/elaboration. i generally try to not get involved in the politics of blather, for my theory is that, usually, the things that annoy us about blather are less a reflection of blather or its -skites and more simply a blather_barometer marking our own mood.
however, as i read a new, well-written piece, i often first ask whether or not this is original or a quotation. i can usually tell before i get to the bottom, where my suspicion is either confirmed or denied. if i don't recognize the piece and am taken by it, i would feel cheated if i later found out that the piece was not original. part of blather is deception--fictional screen names, fictional stories, fictional relations. again, i'm not attacking you, fella; i feel that in some instances deception is simply wrong.
i hoped not to stir the pot here, but only to point out why i reacted the way i did. take it for what it's worth, and put the rest in the blather_poop_chute.
