i'd really like to know! the least the powers that be could do, is show up and clue us in. don't you feel sort of helpless? every single fucking time i click on a topic, i cringe, because i have no idea if i'm going to be blinded by the white flash! it is destroying my ability to see the topics that will open up. they end up being a monstrous blue blur. ::sigh:: Sage, have we told you how addictive Blather is? you can't just yell fire and then run. you have a responsibility to your disciples! at the least, please create a Blather Clinic so that we can overcome this indigo addiction. please? HELP!

blather is no more addicting than TV. it's a little more entertaining for me than TV, though, because it's a little more real. while being "nonsensical". farcical, while sincere. after all, the process of choosing words to convey thoughts and feelings and all that is very compelling to the human. it's the responsibility of every user to decide, am i always wishing this chocolate tasted more chocolatety, or is this chocolate the good quality chocolate? i don't know the answer to the white screen question. it's a pretty big collection of webpages, maintained by only a couple of people. ever since i became unattached to blather, i felt much better about it. i replaced "refresh" with "renew". you can too!

for the most part, i was teasing. i'm not that addicted to Blather. i leave it for days at a time. the fact is that when i want it, i want it without imperfection (the way it was before). i suppose i'll live. oh, and what is tv? :)

Sorry all. We didn't know that anything has been wrong with blather. We don't pay much attention to it ourselves. Sorry if that offends anyone! We semi-recently moved nwtekno.org over to the same server blather is on and I suspect it might be sucking up more than its fair share of resources. I'll see if we can get some more memory into the machine. Hang in there!

I *knew* they had changed something that was hogging resources! ha ha! let's have a bake sale, and buy blather it's own server! also, I've noticed that you don't need to wait for the page to reload for your submit to take affect. The server gets the request about 1/2 second after you hit BLATHER. at that point, there's no turning back. what you're waiting for is the process as it sits in the que, and then finishes and reloads the page. After a couple of seconds can browse to another page, and feel confident that your post will make it. you may still experience white screen on that page until all the posts to that page have finished, but you do not need to re-submit your post.

I think that the main thing wrong with blather are the people that treat it as a forum to ridicule others. Some people say some beautiful and poetic things on blather, others say some trully interesting things, and a few people ruin it for everyone by being rude. Try being polite - it's not difficult, you may even find manners to be more pleasurable. (I have a strange suspicion that this message will be amusingly juxtaposed next to one calling me something offensive!)
