"What purpose does _______ serve?"
I hate it when so called progressives ask this irrelevant question as they posture for a debate about why people shouldn't do things they don't like.
And yet..we just sent a fucking probe to Jupiter. What purpose does that serve other than to employ a bunch of college graduate techies and satisfy the curiosity of an arrogant and entirely too coddled academic establishment? 1.1 billion dollars worth of taxpayer money so the nerds can look at Jupiter up close and brag about the new things they learned that are irrelevant to improving the condition of humans here on Earth. What purpose does that serve?
How about autonomous vehicles? What purpose does that serve? The continued castration of the American labor force? Maybe its to keep dumbing down the populace and making it more and more dependent on the technology that is controlled by investor class elitists? Or yet another handy way progressive, Star Trek inspired idealists are short sightedly trying to exacerbate the already out of control population problem on our planet? ("We're saving lives and making the world a better place." Not when we take increased poverty and crime due to overpopulation into consideration..no they're not.)
How about constantly bickering and name calling across the aisle at Conservatives and their ways? What purpose does that serve? Does it just give you a fat chubby and a hearty laugh as you nudge your friends with your elbow and LOL each other to sleep while we get fucked in the ass by elitists due to our being a highly divided populace? Have you thought about what purpose it serves disrespecting conservatives?
Probably just makes you laugh huh? Probably hurts someone's pride..or pisses them off or makes them think you're an asshole, huh? Probably makes you feel good to do it anyway, huh? Or you wouldn't keep doing it.

Get some perspective, lighten up and let people enjoy themselves in THEIR own way for a second or two. Sometimes we all need a release in this harsh world.
Desensitize your dog while soothing and comforting her and she'll eventually be much less skittish..and a happier dog.
