MEGATOKYO www.megatokyo.com:: heavily anime influenced, as well as gaming. The story is sincere, and some of the characters incredible. Drawing is VERY good, and displays the convictions of emotions well. story synopsis: two gamers attempt to sneak into E3(gaming expo only allowing invited people and press), piro( pronounced pealow as it's japanese) who loves japanese love novel games and anime.. and largo, the typical american gamer who loves beer. after being thrown out, and largo gets drunk and does very obscene things in public, piro considers it best if they leave the country, so largo wakes up on an airplane to japan. they used all their money to get there, so they are stranded in japan, megatokyo to be exact. Also, often updated rants by piro and largo about life and things that interest them. Piro is the artist, and not very proud of his own work, and so is diligent in making it better, talks of that, computers, anime, and some very touching subjects as well. Largo usually talks of games, is much more brief than piro, and more extroverted in style and comedic.

DEMONOLOGY 101 faith.rydia.net the artist, faith, has her own style. it reminds me of charcoal and rain. the story is well told, and well communicated. some traces of anime humor, but not much of anime drawing style. story synopsis: Raven is a teenager, she goes to highschool, she has friends. But it's not as drab as it sounds. Raven is actually a demon, protected by her guardian, Gabriel, who has a dark past himself. Raven isn't a typical demon, she doesn't understand her heritage or her past, and she's rather nice, not evil. The story, in short, sounds very typical of many t.v. shows today, and it definetly has that t.v. series feel to it... but it is much better than the tripe you see on t.v. The connections lie not as much with the plots as the characters interaction in their environment. Very good.

CHIGA AND KAPUT www.pOnju.com A fantasy story, about a girl and her dragon. So far there is only one chapter, but in the future there is hopefully more. The narative of the story is very archaic, almost as childrens medevil literature. seemingly primitive at first, but it perpetuates the story very well, as it's that root of things the narative is pushing at. The art is anime esque, and VERY well drawn.

REAL LIFE COMICS This is heavily influenced gaming comic. Discover the world of Greg Dean. Fabricated upon his real life in college as it happens, the story doesn't really have a plot, but many reacurring themes. So far listed on the page, this is about the only one that could really be considered a "comic", instead of a graphic novel. However, it is very well done also, and his honest humor is very funny if you have any knowledge of the gaming world.

Speaking of nifty... SLUGGY FREELANCE www.sluggy.com One of the oldest and greatest around, Sluggy Freelance follows a thick-skulled web designer, his perenially unemployed inventor friend, their sociopathic switch-blade wielding mini-lop rabbit, a relentlessly cheery hyperactive ferret and one normal college girl face off against such perils as demons, aliens, alternate universes, evil mega-corporations, demons from alternate universes, and Santa Claus. If artist/writer Pete Abrams' style of blending the mundane with the bizarre, and making it all consistently hilarious, isn't perfect, I sure as hell don't know what is, then. Note, however, that the storyline, while separated into chapters, has been continually developing every day for almost five years, so understanding what's going on now is impossible unless you've read everything that's already gone on, which might take a while. It is worth the afternoon(s) to read, though. Worship the comic.

http://neilswaab.com/comics/index.html I understand that Rehabilitating Mr. Wiggles is nationally syndicated, but definitely not in my section of the country. It's oh-so-good with the most evil teddy bear anyone's ever imagined. Sins abound. Also features Jesus the alcoholic.

queen of wands (queenofwands.net) follows the lives of Kestrel and Shannon and Felix, who all live together..not quite as "Three's Company" as it sounds and there are a few really funny cross overs with Randy Millholland from Something POsitive (somethingpositive.net) which has already been mentioned. All so, Scary Go Round (www.scarygoround.com) is really funny and BRITISH so great slang (like Tupping!) and As If! (www.asifcomic.com) reminds me of Degrassi Junoir High, for SOME reason...
