First, "yeah" whoever you are you are an ignorant jack-off. People like you really fucking piss me off... so eager to see this country involved in a war. You're one of those bullshit little chicken-hawks who endorses a war because you'll probably never have to fight in it yourself. Knowing what i do know from the bits and pieces i've heard and from my own experience in the military, the goal we claim to have, and the one that makes the most sense is to capture the weapons, both to secure them, probably to inventory them to make some case for legitimacy before the UN, and hopefully to dismantle them. The idea is to prevent any of it from making its way back onto the black-market or from being put to use once any serious shit begins. The contamination threat from a destroyed nuke while severe, is much less so than from a detonation. Chem and Bio agents would have to be secured. too dangerous to risk any kind of breach. If this turns out well and proves the Vegetable (Bush) right, we'll all be relatively lucky... but i have my doubts, even if we do prove the case about the weapons...this was handled in such a piss-poor diplomatic fashion that the administration is going to have to keep the number of civillian casualties to nearly impossibly low levels considering the type of campaign they plan on launching... the truth is that even if the Bush Administration manages to prove even more than a few little shreds of its case, the degree of pre-planning and the amount of force committed to the area before the Shrub started trying to sell his war plan to the world still looks like little more than a two-pronged strategy to gain control of more oil and a vulgar display of naked power. If you stop and take a good look at the things Bush has said and the volume of personnel and materiel we have committed to the region, it becomes clearer and clearer that this war was not going to be averted and that our so-called diplomacy was as much of a sham as Saddam's cooperation. You don't commit that deeply unless you intend to go all the way with it. I don't envy any one of those boys and girls of ours out there in the desert...our brothers, our sisters, family and friends, out there tonight... but tonight my thoughts are with them. I did my time in the camo and the o-d green and the desert tan... Some of us learn from our experiences behind the gun that we are not always the instruments of peace or the defenders of freedom. One last thing, "yeah," has it ever occurred to you that you may well be a load your mother should have swallowed. I think maybe the best part of you ran down the crack of your mama's ass and ended up as a stain in the sheets. You sound like you were definitely culled from that shallow end of the gene-pool where the lifeguards don't always prevent pissing in. ignore the chicken-hawk, people. with any luck, he'll never breed.

if the weapons he may have, or has, are very very bad... then what sense does it make to bomb him? to possibly detonate the bombs that he may be hiding? I asked my friend about it and he's like "we bombed them so they wouldn't bomb us first." well... no, they won't bomb us first now.. but they could possibly retaliate. stupid stupidness. stoopid.

alright, alright... enough cussing. i hate the war as much as anyone else, but the language :) it is ridiculous to have this war. i don't care if he does have a buch of weapons, the point is, we don't have the authority to decide to kill him. who died and made the US king? we are not the "policeman" on the war, the UN is. If the UN does not see a valid reason to have this war, then who the hell are we to go against them. We have just as many "bad" weapons as they do. And really, there are so many other countries like cuba, north korea, russia, china, and tons more that all have bad leaders, who have nuclear power, why aren't we bombing them? as far as you people who support the war, i urge you to rethink your position. However, everyone has the right to decide for themselves. i respect your right to wear american flags all over everything and to stand behind this war, and you should respect my right to yell about peace and how i hate bush and to not support this war. we are all americans.

read this us_un_resolutions_veto_list_read_this and wonder why this mess is here in the first place. then note that the US helped put saddam in power, sold him weapons, which he then used on HIS OWN population because they were kurds, which the US ignored because it didn't want a conflict to disrupt it's arms trade or oil imports. then when iraq invades kuwait the us charges in, say's "hey, stop it" which saddam does, SO THEY LEAVE HIM IN POWER, withdraw their army and throw up a bunch of sanctions with the UN (which is one of the worst things the UN has ever done) crippling the people of iraq meaning they couldn't overthrow the dictator who was killing, starving and torturing them if he thought they didn't like him. Look at the facts. read the history of the thing. I'm no war monger or peacenik, but you can see through history that as the US became more powerful it shat on more people and got more and more scared of retaliation. It is now so paranoid that it has the largest military industry of any country in the world (many times over), and it is trying to repress more and more people so they never, ever have a chance of fighting back, let alone having their voices heard. stacked up to that, 11/9 is fucking nothing.

dB is cool. this war is probably about anything BUT weapons of mass destruction, and i think its so sad and depressing that people actually think the us has the right to go bomb iraq.

of course the US has the right. It's THEIR OWN weapons they are going to get. They propped up saddam for 10 years. Doesn't mean it's the right thing to do, but they have the responsibility to destroy the evil they have made. Unfortunately the US only knows how to bludgeon something to death rather than treat the illness.

I was real kinds of disapointed yesterday. I was mostly disapointed in to people because a lot of people are just falling in line behind Bush for no appearent reason. grrrrr the other thing is that it's a completely unfair fight, we make him give up most of his weapons and then go start a war? the US government is just a bully anymore, and that disapoints me.

all i have to say is, don't blame me, i voted libertarian. I damn sure wasn't going to vote Gore?Lieberman, and there isn't an extreme enough lobotomy to have ever convinced me that Bush/Cheney was a bright idea either. Now, sad to say, i'm just waiting to see how long it is before somebody slips beneath the radar of the department of homeland clusterfuckery and does something rotten in our backyard
