you prefer the company of the self-doubtful, then. with billions in either direction, from obnoxiously confident to irritatingly doubtful, surely you will find a way to avoid those who breeds such scorn within you. pretty much everyone avoids someone or other. 'tis tolerance, is it not?

truly a careless error on my part. during the typing of that sentence, i tricked myself into thinking that i wanted an 's' on 'breed'. ah, to be so deluded...

people who so publicly proclaim their own honesty are either politicians running for office or are trying to bury a dishonest reputation. if someone is genuinely honest, it speaks for itself. if you have to tell everyone how honest you are, then you aren't really.

well, if we're being that black and white about things... wouldn't it be more of a 50/50 type-deal? people being how they are, it seems far more likely that: 50% of self-proclaimed honest people are lying, and the other 50% are proclaiming self-honesty truthfully. said the girl as they tied her to the post in salem, "but i'm not a witch! honest!" but the crowd assumes, if she is up there she must be guilty, and how dishonorable to still be denying it! great short story about this very thing: _the_piece_of_string_, by guy de maupassant.
