And so this guy comes in and he has long hair and he's jaming out to Metalica. Not any new Metalica but the old Metalica. Something like "Master of Pupets" or "And Justice For All". Not exactly my cup-O-tea these days (long hair an' heavy metal) but hey, you gotta do your own thing man. And so I get into his old Mazda MX-6 and shut off the radio and there it is. A throwing star. Not a traditional throwing star like a shuriken but this odd pocket knife thing. It had three folding blades that obviously swung out like a pocket knife blade and it had a belt clip. Now thats kind of fruity, not just the design of the star but carrying this thing around. I mean when are you gonna use this thing? And do you have to unfold it yourself or do you just throw it and let centrifugal force open the blades. I tried to imagine it: this guy is standing in line at the bank when a bank robber comes in "Every body freeze! Just give me the money and nobody gets hur-" but then the robber is cut short. He stands stunned for a moment, the throwing star protruding from his bleeding throat, before he collapses. Yeah, right. The most use I could see this throwing star getting is a few target practice sessions in this guy's back yard. Yeah, the boom box playing heavy metal. The throwing star hitting a tree again and again, sometimes bouncing off rather than sticking.
