We watched a good movie today. It's called "Eleven Days". The final scene where they are scattering the father's ashes sent me spiraling. What a wonderful thing to do for the matter that faithfully carried us along on life's journey. Not to stick it in a spot where it will be isolated from the Earth and her life processes, not to be scattered in a favorite landlocked place, but to be scattered at sea. When we are born, we are defined by the land we live in, it's laws, its customs its terrain and resources. When we are finally merged with the Great Universal Spirit, we are not the property of those same laws, customs or traditions. We are one, and It will have its way. It always does. Scattering our ashes on the water is a symbolic return of the body mind that carried us to that place, to ITS version of oneness..to the mother of all material life..the oceans.
