Eternity is unfathomable.
What's going to happen in 10 minutes?
What's going to happen in a day? A month? A year? 50 years? 700 years? A billion years?
Who knows? But then again, who cares? Why spend all your time thinking about things that don't matter. In 80 years, you and everyone you love will be dead. Maybe that is eternity. Maybe your lifetime is eternity. Maybe I'm a babbling idiot. Who's to say?

I would lie on my back, on the grass, under a starry sky. I know that I can fall down, down to earth. But what if I could fall. . . up? To be lifted into the clouds, past the clouds, into the inky cold blackness, and on and on, passing stars and galaxies and on and on.
Scientists have different ideas about the end of the universe, most of which I don't understand. One person said that the question itself ("What is the end of the universe, or past the end?") is meaningless. Some say that the end of one side is the beginning of the other side (you go left far enough, and you come back from the right side). Truly mind boggling.
