today, it is raining. a few large drops falling wetly, splashing on the pavement. i like rain, even when it falls on me. it means that it's warm enough out that it is not snow or sleet.
yesterday the sky was dry. but yesterday two things did fall into my world. i witnessed one landing and bouncing, the other i stepped over.
the first fell during my walk to work. as i neared ninth avenue on the south side of seventeenth street in manhattan, it fell out of a high floor of the building that deutsch advertising is in, hitting the pavement 4 feet to my right and bouncing 20 feet in the air. it was large (two and a half feet in diameter) and bright blue. fuck! i said as i recognized what it was. an inflated chair ball was falling back towards me slowly. late for a critical deadline i kept going. it was 8:11 am.
after work, on the way to the path station, walking south on washington a few blocks past gansevoort, i stepped over an intact grey pigeon wing. it was lying on the sidewalk as it would on it's owner's side, slightly unfurled. it was grey and perfect.
two sky-gifts. yesterday was my sky-gift day.

it is a large plastic ball that is like a child's toy but large enough to sit on. It is supposed to improve torso and leg strength and posture.

do you mean the hipityhop? if so, similar to those, but no handle. they are made of a smoother, less rubbery plastic. they are sometimes used for stretching in gyms.

Oh! You mean like a pilates ball! I have a big purple one (sometimes i use it in place of my computer chair). It's comfy. =0)
I didn't know those other balls were called "Hipityhops". What a whimsical name for it! *says it a few times out loud* Haha,i really do like that...
