though i wish they weren't so owl-like. but in the final analysis, i don't think i've liked what the raven types have been up to in their hotel rooms. too much bonding, too much emotion. whatever happened to the value of detachment. the lack of formality shows and i wouldn't touch that school with a ten-foot-pole if everybody's top three reasons are "i like the people you meet." i made that mistake with Mudd. i met good friends, which I'm happy for, but the schooling is what I truly paid for and would do it again for. friendship still might be the most important thing there is, but how realistic is it to assume your friendship is worth it's weight if it's carried by things like texting and email? and if the rest of the time, when people are in each other's presence, it's a bar and a party, then it's not for me. i know i probably take it a little too seriously, but then again, it's hard to imagine why i wouldn't.

i just have been informed that owls are what all the scenester_bitches are looking for these days. she had vintage owl jewelry all over the place. owls....i don't really get it. now hawks, eagles on the other hand. i would understand that a little better.

i don't know about scenester_bitches, but owls would be about "wisdom", feminisim probably, since they're nocturnal and the night is more female than the day. eagles don't allow their images to be used too profanely, they are something about "spirit", and hawks, well, I don't know, more masculine. hawk is "perspective". once when i was going crazy (moreso than I am today), I went walking outside of the city limits looking for owls to give me some advice about my research. if i hadn't given up the research, i'd still be looking for those owls. and, I have a ceramic owl that I got at a senior home in the U-District. apparently, it's keepable.
