smile of a dog we're going to the library soon and we'll pull books off the shelf like a bird yanks worms from the ground. i'll watch her cheeks blush when she finds the ones she wants to check out and later she'll tell me what she's reading like this morning when she told me about the potassium/sodium balance of cells.

when i look at her sometimes i can't believe she has stayed with me so long, how we have grown like two trees side by side and our trunks are intertwined and could never be separated.

she drinks my sap. i drink hers.

we're going to see moolaade at our favourite arthouse theatre. i'll watch her face in the light of the screen when she doesn't know it. and if she should catch me, she'll just smile.

maybe she'll even kiss me.
