oldephebe Boy, did i used to love that show 030909

oldephebe Boy was that ever a generational referance...i guess when that show was on a lot of you were in grammer school..still it was a manifestly great show by dint of it's articulation or it's commentary on the acquisitive culture of the 80's meets a woman who i think came of age in the late 60's and or early 70's...and now she finds herself beleagured, a little bitter a little frayed but essentially still trying to exemplify the spirit of revolution and empathy and egalitarianism that struggled mightily against elitism and rascism in the 60's.

at a time when so much of tv was (and still is) the reductive vapid celebration of the lowest common denominater..you know joe six pack or biff and buff with there brie and thier modestly priced california wine...right ...here was a show that linked the conflicts, the confluence of experience..amidst a culture that was diametrically opposed to the zietgiest of the 60's to concrete exemplars of experiences...so much of existential thought that is churned out of the rectal engines of acedemia is little more than mastubatory cojecture...i mean it's deep and dense stuff, it's an unaccessible language that fails to link so called apriori postulations with concrete, concret examples of human experience that could act as a guide for really earnest consumers of said philosophy...
