those poignant words i kept hearing yesterday. someone said them in passing during a breakfast conversation i was not participating in, and the phrase slipped through my conscious thought like a cool breeze but then snagged like a piece of red_and_blue yarn from a scarf caught on a tree branch. i then heard it again on the chairlift as a young dad tried to explain to his daughter the reasons she should attempt snowboarding in addition to skiing.... and then i heard it again from the director of the school from which i had recently opted out of teaching. "there's a place for you here....you can have the best of both worlds." if_only it all could be that simple. |
