mourninglight rather than fighting the memories...

I always walked barefoot then.
there was a northern rain, very cold, and city transit.
I left muddy footprints in the cold dust of a thousand daily commuters that day..

you were fascinated by my feet..granted its not as though I did anyone the favor of covering them up when any other sane person would have been wearing shoes.

dirt paths
and the rain..slicking the grass, and the trees
soaking me..
sending us running through the trees to find a quiet place, a drier place, an alone place.

bits of leaf and pine needles
a shriek from YOU!
you who thought the worm was a spider..

oh you.

...and the raindrops tangled in your hair amidst the bits of forest floor.
you and your kisses
your touch
your warmth

you gave me a reason to breathe again.
for a time anyway

...
in passing The piercing radiant moon,
the storming of poor June.
All the life running through her hair.
Approaching guiding light,
our shallow years in fright.
Dreams are made winding through my head.
Through my heeaad through my heeaadd,
before you know, awake.
