Piso Mojado on the playa

far away a large face in profile

meander over

a wooden face- schematic outline of eyes mouth nose chin forehead

up close it was filled with cartoons, logos, and pop-culture images,

and wheels-

on the forehead a fixed wheel of universal archetypes

and by my hand a wheel with spokes, a wheel with messages ripe with personal meanings and synchronicities

i grab a spoke and push- it spins for an unimpressive couple of seconds,

i lean to catch the words,

my laughter a token of gratitude for this reassuring gift of the universe-

"take it to the next level"

Piso Mojado Hi Sarah-
finally getting back to you and you're poem-thanks for it and so glad
our piece inspired you. We had alot of fun making it and even more fun when
Lisa and i would anonymously ride out to it and witness for ourselves some
of it's "magic". Like one day we saw a woman-in her youthful forties
-take a spin and the wheel stopped on this message: "You Are So Amazingly
Beautiful!" -and she turned and someone else said "It's true!" and tears welled up in this woman's eyes and she was smiling and laughing and crying and you just knew that at that moment she really needed to hear/know that. Or another time, when a young couple rode up and she spun and it said, "What Are You Waiting For?" -and she thoughtfully grinned and then he spun and it said-"You Are What I Was Waiting For" and they both made delighted "Aughhhhhh"-sounds and began a great make-out session. Thanks for sharing your story-and poem!-and thanks Burning Man, again.
