The region always has the effect of making me vaguely jealous, and also disturbed. But my sister-in-law's family is from Ottawa so there's potential ancestral something or other for me down there. |

Both times, it seems there was a defining moment. The first time it was in the visitor's center and it was something about the French and Indian Wars and, well, they're really NOT going to give up the ghost on that one. This time I was on a field trip for school. I was standing in the middle of a box canyon and it was very beautiful and spacious. There were several other people, classmates and others, and well, if the focus wasn't so much on taking pictures, I suppose I and them could've actually been in the canyon (even if it had just been in passing). Very fascinating. |
