Because my current last name does not lend itself to being written in lights, I decided quite a while ago that I would want a stage name.
Every now and then, I'll look at the meanings of names on websites. The other day I came across a first name that would work rather nicely as my new last name.
My grandmother's name was Merilyn-not Marilyn. She was a very very strong woman, and although she wasn't always popular, she always stood up for what she believed in.
The name I found is a name that is a form of Marilyn. (close enough to Merilyn)
Be watching for the name Sondra Marlene.

whenever someone asks my name when i'm at the bar, i always say Andrea. Not for any particular reason, but its just the first name that comes to mind after my own...
i think that says something, but i don't know if she's listening anymore.

whenever im asked for a name for pizza or coffee or some kind of order, i always say 'bob'
ive been using it since high school [fucking blackadder]
inevitably, no one can spell my name and i dont like giving it out to random strangers anyway
and only once in all these years has anyone ever looked at me quizzically and asked 'bob?'
its short for roberta, i replied
but a weird thing has happened.
when we moved buildings, i found a new place for coffee. they asked me my name first order i made
bob, i replied
and now every morning they say
"good morning bob! how are you today!"
my anonimity has backfired
and its been 7 months or somethng
its too late to say anything now.
