The Inquisition Since we play both sides, the Inquisition is a loyal opposition that performs quality control. It provides a conflict model to make a game: the old order versus new radicals. The Inquisition raises our awareness of The_Serious_One who silently rules our lives, now given voice and exposed. If we are 90% serious, the Inquisition may dominate the game, seize most of our funny money and turn it into time dollars. Then we have to work it off. The dominant economy is a serious productive economy run by the Inquisition, modeling the real world. Heretics have to work all the harder to break away and create their funny_money economy. Making their world funny is the only way to escape. Funny_world will be a challenge and an ideal for a long time before it takes off. The skeptics and scoffers will predominate. I used to think they were a problem holding me back, and I could never make funny world good_enough to get past that.
