sometimes i sit on the stony wall where the blue-green water bubbles over smooth rocks with my hands resting under my legs and feet kicking to the rhythm of "back to back" by the replacements and when the cool guitar solo repeats itself for the 8 millionth time, i suddenly wish i did not waste so much time watching everybody else sitting on these sidelines held back by self-doubts and stupid insecurites screaming a million reasons not to let myself shine through. these green eyes. this hair, this pale skin. it's just a coating. |
