im having a wonderful time. tomorrow we are going on a 3 day trekk through mayan villages to some lake. i think i might be sick of tortillas: we eat them here 2 meals a day.
for the first time in my life, i am a minority. as a gringo, i get cheated by the local merchants, and have to be on my guard against robbers. as a female, i must be in a group of 4 at night, preferable with a male escort.

in my second week in san marcos- a village populated by traditional mayans and hippies/expatriots. beautiful food and jewlery.
jumped off a 30ft cliff into the lake below. it took me a few minutes to leap off with the conviction i feel in my dreams of flying. i screamed the whole way down...
tomorrow starts the retreat im doing with a friend: 5 days of silence. after spending over a month with a group of 13, im more than ready for it.
