Face life with an eagerness to learn and always enjoy the journey. Laurette Lavoie an English teacher at Scarlett for the past eight years leaves us with this one wish. Wherever we go, may we always have a willingness to learn and an appreciation for the relationships that we build along the way. A favored quote of Lavoie’s, written by Oliver Wendell Holmes discusses the significance of change in our lives and how we face them. “I find that the great thing in this world is not so much where we stand as in what direction we are moving.” Lavoie will be moving to Forest Lawn High School and will always remember her time here and the people she was given a chance to connect with. Loosely quoted, T.S. Eliot writes, “With every ending, there is a new beginning. The end is where we start from.” As Lavoie ends her time with us at Scarlett she begins a new journey with the many teachers and students at Forest Lawn.
