i keep cleaning my room the same way, time after time. pile clothes, hang some, pile socks and undies and scraps of fabric to be sorted later. either start in one place or drift around, but generally try to impose order. the thing is, it doesn't quite work. things get tidier, and the battle is brought back to balance, but i spend more time under the weight of the mess than being alive in my own space, i fight the same battles and it never really gets clean. i keep going through the same routine because i don't know any other path. but i keep feeling like there's a way out there somewhere, that somehow i can make it all work, that there's a functional combination and i just haven't found it yet. i'll keep looking for things to try, and doing my best to try them, and often failing but each time i try, maybe, just maybe, i'll get a little more altitude under me. better to try than to keep cleaning and cleaning and making just enough headway to live.

never understood how people could run on a treadmill and watch a video of trees going by. why don't you just go run around your block?

depends... ...if you've ever lived in a neighborhood full of douchebags who own pitbulls as compensatory avatars but don't keep them properly, jogging becomes a whole different and unnecessarily exciting sport

A possible solution. Stop doing what you normally do. If you can resist the urge to do what you normally do (which may bring your life to a screeching halt for a while,) then your mind will get so bored that it will come up with a new activity for you to do... maybe. Or, in the worst case scenario, you may get used to doing nothing... which is never a good thing.
