Talking of repressed_rhythm are you? What of the natural rhythms of the human being, of the free and healthfully flowing mind, of the unencumbered body and a happy comfort in what is truly and honestly ourselves?
I submit that Islam is unAmerican, unBritish and anti-Western. Yet we must not treat them as badly as they treat us, for that would assault our rational dignity. Islam is terrified of the human body, of its rational mind (humanism), and of human sexuality (and open-minded explorations of such, i.e. feminist sexology) and would (if it could) throw out the constitution and replace it with Islamic Republicanism of something of the sort. Example: many moderate Church-going Americans would kindly ask homosexuals not to mention what activities occur in their bedroom, and accordingly grant them constitutional protections, if even in a dogmatic, not a warmer way. Islam would instantly condemn said activities , enforce the (not rationally debated) tenets of Islam and, depending on the Islamic country, hang, disembowel or otherwise despatch the normal person who just happened to be homosexual.
A moderate prescription from Islamicists in Britian is this: if you're homosexual keep quiet and don't follow Nature, deny your genetic encodement. (Concomitantly, it would prohibit ongoing Scientific debates on sexuality which allows self-motivated freedom of conscience DURING THE DEBATE.) If British Islamicists conquered Britian (which many want to do by immigration, (see The Spectator Magazine, 2004), they would enforce the traditional moderate Islamic punishment for homosexuality: fifty to one hundred floggings. If the "transgressor" persists, then the way is open to stoning. Accordingly, adulterers and divorcers would be stoned to death, or depending on the circumstances, flogged.
Is not the American civil code of crime and punishment considerably more merciful and rational than this? At least the American code leaves itself open to change and debate BECAUSE IT IS RATIONAL. Islam must rely on dusty, questionable dogmas spun by small minds several hundred years ago. It recourses to obscurantism, not the light of Reason. No Enlightenment came to Islamic countries, but to the Christian West (1650-1790). The Enlightenment produced Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin and (though we was not a philosopher) George Washington.
Did you know that any Western philosopher can knock the basis of Islam from under its feet? All academics concur that THE EXISTANCE OF GOD HAS NOT BEEN PROVED. The Pope himself can tell you: being a Chrsitian is a matter of FAITH not Science or Reason, but FAITH. (Science and Reason might help, but Faith is facilitator.)
Therefore I ask you: do you want to merciful, rational and moderate like a true American. Or do you want to be small-minded, stony-hearted and fatally dogmatic like the Islamicists?
Do you publically keep the debate on homosexuality going but take your private position as Liberty allows you? Or do you oppress differences and stone and flog those who are (likely) just guilty of biological makeup or, without harming others, personal volition?
Are we Westerners or are we Islamicists? (And let me point out that George Bush, though I do not wholly support him, is infinitely more merciful than the Prophet Mohammed ever could be!)
