Well today was a rainy day Today The sky was gray The thunder came. The lighting struck again and again And it rained and rained and rained. Just this rain Falling from the sky No green grass No bright light Just clouds today, there ain’t no stars tonight I just sat and stared all day At the gray, the rainy day, today. Well I woke up slow and soft To my radio alarm clock It was a dismal tune It matched the mood in my bedroom And as I struggled out of sleep And to my window just to see The rain was pounding back The rainy days, the saddest days are black. Well I stumbled through my day In that slow and rainy way And I rode my bike real slow The wind was blowing, the sun refused to show There was no color in my day: The colors had all washed away Today was the rainiest day The blackest day, the saddest day, today. |
