unhinged my grandmother got acutely chronically ill and there was a period of time where her occupational therapist told her to put puzzles together; she couldn't talk much at the time and therapist thought the brain exercise of putting puzzles together would help her get her words back.

(it did. eventually. for a little bit)


after she finished them, my grandpa would glue them together and hang them on the bedroom hallway wall. by the time she died, the hallway walls were almost filled, a stripe of puzzles right above the middle of the hallway, from end to end.
