pro_birth
stork daddy to say pro-life brings with it connotations of a certain quality of life. i think most pro-lifers are really pro-birth. they don't care if the enusing life is a squallid slavery, so long as they can feel they've discharged the bare minimum of their moral duties. an aborted child is a far less morally outrageous event than a starving man. saying one is innocent and the other not totally misunderstands when compassion is most commendable. even when someone has of their own "volition" wasted their life, to be able to forgive them, shows a love of your fellows, enemy and brother alike. an unborn child has not a half of the need for grace as a fallen adult has. their very innocence is what makes compassion for them a less morally difficult and valuable commitment. of course innocence should be protected, but to truly protect innocence is to ensure that the world they are born into is one worth being born into. 050227
