it seems like we being to step into the next era. with the global economy troubles, our planet decaying health - our collective thinking is shifting into a more productive, more communal way of life - a life (i like to think) where the things you have are not as important as how you feel inside and how connected you feel to your environment -perhaps the universe. i am exited about the changes that are coming but i shiver at the thought that we will suffer a great deal before we get 'there'.

When I was a child, there was so much to be had for more people than ever before so few wanted to simplify; that was laughed at and looked down upon as backwards. After all, American (I am an American) is THE progressive power in the world, leading where all should follow. That's the hype anyway.
Now I feel so hopeful, so anxious and also welcome to relax and believe others want to try and embrace the simple, give it value, share it, project it, make it real.
That's my hype, anyway.

Where does this hype come from? Where does it pervade?
In this part of the world America is certainly not seen as progressive.
At the moment, right here, I think the attitude toward America is ambivalent at best.
At worst, well, manners prevent me.
I think America could do well to look beyond the hype.
Is that possible?
In a strange way the hype is what makes America – It embodies hype, is hype; relies on the hype about hype - would collectively embrace a word such as hype.
A competition called a “world series” that includes one nation. Hmmmm - Hype maybe?
There will be no post consumption in America. America is consumption.
Better recognized and dealt with than agonized and paralyzed by the quest for definition in your jumped up TV world morality.

America currently I liken to a frat boy douche bag, drunk at a party, and not realizing how loud and idiotic he's being because of an inflated sense of self worth.
But there is potential there. Hopefully the rest of the world won't haze us to death.
