no fair, mr. mad, that's cheating. you get two in one. now _i_ claim schenanegans. as an aside, i love both, but if forced to decide: the seed wins (though the leaf was quite lovely in my soup tonight). and to address this yet another silly little pussy poll, i say BASIL!

that's a tough one. when faced with the same decision, on an answering machine, my first impulse was to say "sage".

depends what it's going with, so I'll describe a nice meal for you; pork steak with cloves -or- roasted chicken breast wrapped in pancetta ham, with a bay leaf tucked inside potatoes, seasoned with thyme and oregon -or- stilton mash. green salad with garlic and chilli dressing and chopped red peppers -or- roasted halved red and green peppers with assorted herbs says yum.

vegetarian option: steamed vegatables (cauliflower, broccoli, carrot, sweetcorn, peas, peppers, tomatos, etc) with *plenty* of aromatic herbs; (basil, thyme, oregon) with sauteéd potatoes, cooked with a generous splash of port (shiraz may do, I suppose) Starter Choices: the omnipresent prawn cocktail, served in an ice cold brandy glass, with 2 large lettuce leaves lining it, filled with -peeled- prawns, topped with a sprinkle of cayenne pepper and ground chilli seeds (or paprika, for the faint hearted) with a light dressing consiting mainly of mayonnaise and wholegrain mustard. -or- french onion soup (from a can, with chopped shallots on top) I'm not very good with deserts.

garlic. and then some more garlic. and then some more. until my garlic bread becomes a delicious test of will. the nutmeg / clove / ginger family also figures heavily in my cooking, along with the occasional inappropriate food dye.

I tried, but she ran back to England. I don't know which she disliked more - the blueness (bluity?) or the two-dimensionalism (dimensiality?)
