when i find that kids are having trouble understanding a concept, i usually try to provide some visual/physical explanation. i assume that this is because that's my learning style. however, it usually works. what i wonder, is do they understand better because i am explaining it that way (and that is how my mind works best) or is it because they people who were confused are also visual/kinesthetic learners.

i feel weird when kids tell me that they like me, or get attached to me. i want to tell them "you have no idea how fucked up i am"

children seem to see past those type of things. they are so beautiful and innocent. . . .and easily manipulated. we are teaching the neighbor girl (who's 3 or 4) to say 'republicans drool. democrats rule.' that's not wrong is it? i mean if everyone else gets to decide her religion, favourite foods, hobbies, opinions, etc. i think i should get her political stance. it's only fair. :)

minds are being manipulated constantly. But you're right, if a kid is taught bad things at home, it's hard to bring them around in school.
