a firm "yes" or "no" seems so much more logical than a "well instead of telling you last week, you'll have to wait until the day of to hear whether or not you'll have your first shift in exactly a month. don't worry we'll do our best to tell you earlier, but it may still be last minute." what a way to place a drain on a saturday otherwise planned to be spent working on an assignment i was coerced (gently) into accepting. |
