Has anyone noticed the age difference between Woody Allen and his leading ladies keeps getting wider and wider, his next co-star is slated to be Christina Ricci, at this rate, christ, who's next, the Olsen twins? i saw Hollywood Ending yesterday and think that the man is truly slipping. in my opinion he is no longer capable of scaling the same artistic heights...he is running the risk of putting himself out to pasture in the same rather sad way as the late great Billy Wilder, his comic timing is no longer what it used to be and too many of the jokes just fell rather flat and came off as being directionless this is no longer the same Woody who gave us Sleeper, or Annie Hall, Broadway Danny Rose, Zelig, or The Purple Rose of Cairo, or my personal favourite - Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex (but were afraid to ask) ~sigh~ |
