in cracks down the wall, and in chips of paint and plaster.. the foundation to my eyes to the world, crumble away before me. my windowsil is old..far older than I..and a recent hailstorm it was open for did not exactly help the poor bit of drywall along any.. ... its just a little morbid.. just a little

I have a moldy windowsil, and my house is far younger than I. I blame myself. Maybe I should spend more time around the house. Maybe.

i work in a model home (in my realtor clothes)- that has been springing leaks in the walls downstairs. It gets worse everytime it rains, and it has stormed, thunder_storm'd, at least twice every week this month. -the increasingly strong moldy mildew smell this is causing, is not so bad as the multitudes of rolly_pollies that are in_festation of the entire lower level. It brings to mind the movie Evolution.. the scene where the old woman checks her water heater room and odd waterbug-flatworm things have slimed their way into her cozy tea-time house. (much grossness!) After much annoyance of bugs crunching underfoot, i went looking for the source only to find they were a) not coming up the pipes in the bathroom; b) not entering by any means of the utility waterheater drainage; or c) coming in thru the garage. No, the cause for the immigration of these little trilobites has been due to the negligence of a cracked window. Stranger is that these little compost eaters had an actual tunnel through the soft drywall around and under the windowsill and thus continued to arrive in droves undetected for weeks. Smart little buggers. If not for the warping of the wall, they would've gotten away with it. ..and i used to think these little things were cute when i was a kid.
