they say it doesn't lead anywhere; that it's pull back to the tonic isn't strong enough. i like the ambiguity. the modal seventh is more independent. damn tonal_seventh implying the root; i wouldn't always want to be implying someone else. there's something ancient feeling about a modal_seventh. like you can hear the monks shuffling along dusty corridors, their footsteps the only thing echoing in their vow of silence. |
